  • Lilac and lavender took off
  • Oranges advanced, especially cinnamon
  • Japanese red reached out to oranges
  • Fox was the newest brown
  • Shades of honey pushed gold aside
  • While olive remained strong, newer greens went cooler

MATERIALS AND TEXTURES

  • Growth for cane was remarkable
  • Marble became even more figured
  • Active grains from unusual species made wood stand out
  • Metal inlays surged
  • The preference for matte finishes started to erode
  • Fringe gave hard and soft materials a flapper sensibility

ICONS AND MOTIFS

  • Watch out for eyes
  • A resurgence of birds included peacocks
