The Ambiente Trade Fair in Frankfurt, Germany sets the pace for the world of consumer goods. However diverse, these products fit into the categories of Dining, Giving, and Living. This is the fair where business and creativity come together and where visitors place orders with international exhibitors.
There were 4,469 exhibitors from over 94 countries at the 2017 edition of Ambiente, and the February 2018 Ambiente trade fair is shaping up to be even larger! The theme of the show is Tradition Meets Innovation, and, as always, Ambiente has devised four trend roles that gracefully encompass the huge array of products this show features.
The first of these is Modest Regenerations - Plain & Simple
Both contemporary and timeless, as well as plain and relaxed, Modest Regenerations combines well-established ideas with new ones. Wood, stone, concrete, ceramics, bamboo, cast iron, linen and wool in natural colors are the preferred materials.
The second trend is Colorful Intentions - Ethical Claim Combined with Strong Colors.
The "intentions" in this tend are those that support ethical claims in products. Recycling, upcycling, and sustainable qualities combine with impressive styling, bright colors, vitality, and bold patterns, such as checkers, stripes and decorative patterns. All materials are recycled, including plastic, metal, wood, and textiles.
Thirdly, there's Technological Emotions - Innovative Materials in Appealing Designs.
Both sophisticated and sensitive, this stylistic direction has a visionary impact. Through experimentation with new technologies, it achieves emotional appeal, rather than the cool, pragmatic appeal one would anticipate. It includes some uncommon combinations of materials and products. Extra-thin films, soft textiles and novel visual accents speak to the senses.
Lastly, is Opulent Narrations - the Courage to be Opulent.
In a world of shifting fortunes, this brave trend shows off affluence, along with a penchant for eccentricity and historical quotations. Expensive details and a love for opulent particulars creates a picturesque look that uses, porcelain, precious stones, ornate leatherwork, brocades and relief carvings to make its bold statement.
